Lakers 5 Clydesdales 4
Lakers were in Duluth tonight to face the Clydesdales. Steve Terry started the Lakers off at 14:20 of the first period scoring a short handed marker. Ryan Wildman and Brandon Fehd picked up assists on the goal.
The Clydesdales didn't waste any time as the Lakers wound up in penalty trouble. Hunter Scott picked up two powerplay goals in a minute and 13 seconds. His first was at 13:27 with two lakers in the penalty box. Then he picked up his second power play goal at the 12:14 mark. The period ended with the Clydesdales leading 2-1.
The second period started with the Lakers Steve Terry scoring his second goal of the night at 15:02 with Byron Katapaytuk picking up an assist.
At 9:42 the Clydesdales would again take the lead on a goal by Andrew Doig.
Byron Katapaytuk would then pick up his second point of the night a mere 25 seconds later when he would tie the game after taking a pass from Brett McMahon. Katapaytuk would score again on the power play at 3:23 of the second and again give the Lakers the lead by netting his second goal and third point of the night giving the Lakers a 4-3 lead at the end of two periods. Blake Boaz and Jon Carlson picked up the assists.
At 15:32 of the last period the Clydesdales Hunter Scott would score again giving him a hat trick on the night and notting the score at 4 a piece. Andrew Doig would pick up his second assist and third point on the night for the Clydes.
The score would remain tied until the 2:00 minute mark when the Lakers Jordan Larson would take a pass from Merritt Rysavy and score what would turn out to be the winning goal for the Lakers.
The Lakers Tanner Hamilton picked up his 9th win of the season stopping 30 of 34 shots he faced. The Clydesdales Jason Dzurik stopped 24 of 29 shots he faced in the lose.
The Lakers road trip continues as they will now head to Dryden on Wednesday January 18th, to take on the Ice Dogs at 7:30.
