SIJHL announces forfeited game

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Friday that SIJHL game No. 150 played on Monday, Jan. 30, between the Dryden GM Ice Dogs and Fort Frances Lakers, has been forfeited by Dryden due to the use of an ineligible player.

The GM Ice Dogs had originally won the contest 3-1, but now forfeit those two points under Hockey Canada rule 2.2 (b) for dressing a player that was omitted from the official game sheet.

The game will now in turn be credited as a victory for the Lakers.

The statistics for players on both sides from this contest will count however.

The SIJHL has deemed the use of the ineligible player by the team was strictly inadvertent.
