SIJHL mourns the loss of Fort Frances Lakers assistant coach Grant Perreault

FORT FRANCES, Ont. – It is with heavy hearts that the Superior International Junior Hockey League regretfully announces the passing of Fort Frances Lakers assistant coach and assistant general manager Grant Perreault after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

Perreault was a vital member of the Lakers’ organization and was instrumental in the club’s success for many years; including helping lead them to three consecutive Bill Salonen Cup championships, all the while continuing his valiant fight with this hideous disease.

“We at the SIJHL send our deepest and heartfelt condolences to Grant’s family, friends, the entire Fort Frances Lakers organization and Grant’s close friend, Lakers’ head coach and GM Wayne Strachan,” respectfully offered league Commissioner Bryan Graham.

“Grant was an inspiration to all that knew him, his community and his team. He will certainly be missed.”
