Deadline Trades/Acquisitions

With the trade deadline of January 10, 2022, the Fort Frances Lakers of the SIJHL have made the following transactions and acquisitions: 

- Acquired 20 yr old defenceman Josh Robinson  from the Lakefield Chiefs (PJCHL), for a player development fee

- Acquired 19 yr old forward Dawson Lampi from the Thunder Bay North Stars (SIJHL), for a player development fee

- Acquired 19 yr old forward Ian Kimble and 19 yr old defenceman Rylen Kleist from the Dryden Ice Dogs (SIJHL), in a trade for Lakers forward Nakoda Thunderchief (SIJHL)

- Acquired 19 yr old forward Tyson Mallet, 19 yr old forward Rylin Philpott-Way, and 20 yr old defenceman Kaden Whaley from the Red Lake Miners (SIJHL),  in a trade for Lakers forward Matty Harrold and Lakers defenceman Brandon Rossetti (2021-22 remainder of the season with playing rights reverting back to the Lakers for the 2022-23 season)

- Signed 18 yr old forward Jack Hale (Thorold, ON).  Jack played 18 games with the Niagara Falls Canucks (GOJHL) and recently played with the Southern Tier Admirals U18 AAA.  He is very excited to join our team and can't wait to get on the ice with his new teammates.

The Fort Frances Lakers are excited and hopeful to get back to play.  The coaching staff feels these moves not only bolster our roster this season, but for next season as well.  We wish our exiting players well, and welcome our new acquisitions to Fort Frances!
