THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday that English River Miners defenceman Terix Fischer-Kobes has been named its Play It Again Sports player of the week for the period ending Jan. 28.
In three games last week the 20-year-old native of Lloydminster, Sask., had points in each of them, picking up six in total, helping English River earn a trio of victories.
Fischer-Kobes began by notching the game-winning goal in overtime as the Miners won in Dryden over the rival GM Ice Dogs Tuesday.
Friday saw the English Miner blueliner help set-up the difference maker in a triumph vs. Minnesota.
The following evening he racked up a career single-game high four assists, which included a helper on a shorthanded marker that proved to be the winner, as the Miners completed a weekend sweep of the Iron Rangers.
Fischer-Kobes had already set personal bests in goals, assists and points in 2017-18 with three, 18 and 21 respectively.
His offensive totals tie him for fifth among all SIJHL defencemen.
