Fort Frances, ON
The Fort Frances Lakers are pleased to announce the acquisition of forward Carter Deschamps as part of a three-team trade with the Red Lake Miners and Dryden Ice Dogs.
As part of this trade, the Lakers will send forward Brandon Gustafson to the Ice Dogs, while the Ice Dogs send forward Jason Grey to the Miners.
Lakers GM, Luke Judson on Carter Deschamps: “Carter is a player that our coaching staff knows well as he played some of his minor hockey in Fort Frances. He had an impressive season with Red Lake as a 17-year-old last year, and we’re looking forward to helping him continue developing his game as a Laker. Carter is a power forward who will have an opportunity to play in all situations.”
Lakers GM, Luke Judson on Brandon Gustafson: “Several teams had reached out about Brandon over the past year, and for good reason. He was a player who led our team physically throughout last season, and I’m looking forward to seeing him have an opportunity to take on a bigger role in his hometown. We wish Gussy all the best with the Ice Dogs.”
