The Lakers coaching staff are happy with addition of Defenseman John Dora. Dora was playing in the MJHL with the Portage Terriers before becoming a Laker. Coach Strachan feels Dora will be a depth player and added, “John brings a year of Junior experience from the NOJHL Soo Eagles. John adds some much needed size to our team and has played two games with the team and shown he will use his size and be physical. Due to injuries he has also seen some time on the power play and has brought a defensive pressence with him in our own end. Early indications show that John will be a big part of the team throughout this season”.
December decisions also saw the Lakers release two defenseman from their roster.
Ethan Brekke who had some hard luck before leaving for home broke his leg after slipping in a parking lot after the freezing rain that fell in our area. Ethan was to have surgery to the leg and we wish him all the best in his recovery.
The Lakers also released Hunter Bowlin. Hunter will be joining the Alexandria Blizzard this week in the NA3HL and we will continue to watch Hunter as he is a player you could see back in a Lakers uniform next season. We wish Hunter all the best the remainder of this season.
