THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Thief River Falls Norskies forward Jared Pedersen has been named its Play It Again Sports player of the week, for the period ending Dec. 10.
In four outings last week, which were all Thief River Falls victories, the 20-year-old Darwin, Minn., native had points in each of them, accumulating eight in total, helping his side extend a consecutive game winning streak to eight and improve to a SIJHL-best 26-1 overall.
Pedersen began by tallying twice and setting up another in a home win over Minnesota Wednesday.
Friday saw him score once in a road triumph at Fort Frances before doling out two assists Saturday as the Norskies completed a home-and-home sweep of the Lakers.
He then wrapped up his run with two more helpers, including one on the game-winner in overtime, as Thief River Falls rallied to edge second place Dryden at Ralph Engelstad Arena.
Currently sporting a five-game point streak, Pedersen is tied for fifth in league offensive production with 34 points in 27 games on 12 goals and 22 assists.
Also earning consideration for SIJHL Play It Again Sports player of the week honours were the following:
