Siebenga strikes in OT as Dryden rallies past Fort Frances

FORT FRANCES, Ont. – A Jacob Siebenga goal, three and a half minutes into overtime, helped the Dryden GM Ice Dogs complete a 4-3 decision over the Fort Frances Lakers Friday in Superior International Junior Hockey League play at Ice for Kids Arena.

Fort Frances gained the upper hand in the first period by scoring twice on a power play marker by Brett Hahkala and one at even strength off the stick of Isaac Baron.

Dryden battled back in the middle session however with Cameron Coutre putting the GM Ice Dogs on the board 52 seconds into the session before Rayman Bassi tied it midway through the stanza.

Heading to the third, Kendyn Faragher put the home side back in front, only to see Eric Stout pick up his 20th at 6:17 to help force extra time.

In OT, Siebenga collected the game-winner for Dryden as he buried a Trey Palermo feed to end it.

Jordan Wilde made 24 saves in a winning cause for the GM Ice Dogs while Jacob Gnidziejko saw 48 shots fired his way in the setback for the Lakers, who did pick-up one point in defeat.
