SIJHL announces GM Ice Dogs – Lakers semifinal schedule
THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday the game schedule for its upcoming semifinal playoff series between the No. 1 seeded Dryden GM Ice Dogs and No. 5 Fort Frances Lakers.
All games in this best-of-seven affair will feature a 7:30 p.m. Central start time.
Game action begins Wednesday at Dryden’s Memorial Arena with the series opener.
The GM Ice Dogs will also serve as the host side for Game 2, which goes Thursday back at Memorial Arena.
Ice for Kids Arena in Fort Frances will be the venue for Game 3, which goes Saturday, April 1.
Fort Frances will also host Game 4 on Tuesday, April 4.
Game 5, if necessary, is slated for Friday, April 7 in Dryden.
The Lakers would be the home side for Game 6, if required, and it would be held on Monday, April 10 back at Ice for Kids Arena.
Should the match-up need a seventh and deciding game, it would be held Wednesday, April 12 in Dryden.
The winner of this series will take on the team that prevails in the other league playoff semifinal between the Thunder Bay North Stars and English River Miners for the SIJHL’s Bill Salonen Cup championship.
The league winner will then advance to the Dudley-Hewitt Cup Central Canada Jr. A championship, May 2-6, in Trenton, Ont.
All SIJHL playoff contests will be streamed live online at HockeyTV.com.
