SIJHL unveils All-Star Game ticket information

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced the ticket information for its 2018 All-Star Game & Skills Competition, which will be hosted by the Fort Frances Lakers and held on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at Ice for Kids Arena in Fort Frances.

The Skills event will get underway at 6 p.m. CT followed by the All-Star Game at 7:30 p.m. CT.

Ticket prices to attend will be $12 for adults, $8 for students and $5 for children 12 & under.

Advance tickets will be on sale at all Lakers’ home games or on game day at the door.

Tickets can be reserved by calling Milt Strachan at (807) 275-5255 or via email at mstrachan@fort-frances.com.

For a second consecutive year, the contest will feature a “Border Battle” format, which will see Canadian All-Stars taking on their American counterparts with line-ups comprised of skaters and goaltenders from the SIJHL’s six-member clubs based on their citizenship as well as by their respective efforts on the ice through the first two and a half months of the 2018-19 regular season.

Last year’s event in Eveleth, Minn., saw Team USA skate to a 5-2 victory over their Canadian counterparts.

This will mark the sixth all-star completion in the history of the league.

The SIJHL All-Star Game rosters, coaching staffs and officials will be announced in the coming weeks.
