Tyler Johnson tallies twice as Norskies sink Lakers

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. – Tyler Johnson tallied twice, including the game-winner, to help propel the Thief River Falls Norskies to a 4-1 victory over the visiting Fort Frances Lakers Tuesday night in Superior International Junior Hockey League action at Ralph Engelstad Arena.

Fort Frances did get on the board first as Jaedin Ness notched his 17th goal of the season, which came at 13:27.

However, Thief River Falls came right back with the equalizer on the next shift on a Blake Nelson effort as he collected his 26th overall.

Johnson then put the Norskies up 2-1 in the middle session as his first of the evening proved to be the game-winner.

Heading to the third period, the home side picked up some insurance from Michael Crosbie and Johnson to help secure the decision.

Thief River Falls defenceman Connor Bowey chipped in with two assists in the triumph.

Earning the win in net was Bailey Schmitz as he made 27 stops and also added an assist.

Lakers’ starter Matt Booth faced 39 shots in defeat.
