FORT FRANCES LAKERS ADOPT-A-SCHOOL PROGRAM
The Lakers Adopt-a-School Program is an opportunity for Lakers hockey players to embrace the community in which they live & play hockey, and more specifically to engage the school community. The Lakers Adopt-a-School Program is an asset to the teachers, students and the players themselves! Lakers hockey players help extend & consolidate the learning experience for youth by engaging in school activities that enrich the learning experience for the students. The children and the Lakers mutually enjoy the experience!
Seven Generations Education Institute has shown support. The very successful education based Lakers Adopt-a-School Program is being extended to various First Nation’s schools. Lakers players will engage with First Nation’s students in educational based activities at the schools and learn a bit about First Nations culture as well.
It’s a win-win event.
Here are the three schools that the LASP engaged with.
