FORT FRANCES, ON – The Fort Frances Lakers are pleased to announce the first player signings of the 2023-24 season. Deagan Watson of Fort Frances will join the Lakers this fall.
The 6’2, 190-pound defenseman spent last season with a Warroad High School squad that went 29-1-1, culminating in an overtime loss in the Minnesota State Championship Final.
“Deagan is a player that most of our coaching staff has worked with in the past,” said Lakers General Manager, Luke Judson. “We know him as a determined player, teammate, and person who has grown leaps and bounds over the past few years, and we’re looking forward to working with him again.”
“We’ve kept a close eye on him during his time in Warroad,” Judson added. “Deagan will add size and smarts to our blue line. He’s been working hard this summer to ensure he’s ready physically to make the leap to Junior hockey.”
