FORT FRANCES LAKERS 12 ENGLISH RIVER MINERS 2 – After letting an early three-goal lead get away from them in a season-opening loss to Thunder Bay Friday, the Lakers didn’t let it happen again as they skated past the first-year Miners at Ice for Kids Arena.
It was all Fort Frances in the first getting tallies from Bryson Jasper, Billy Grillo and Bryce Lipinski to go up 3-0 after 20 minutes.
English River battled back in the second getting a pair of markers from Vincent Currao to pull within one, but Luke Debenedet tacked on his second is as many nights to put the Lakers up 4-2 after 40 minutes.
