Lakers 4-3 winners over Minnesota Wilderness

 

What a difference a couple of weeks and a few roster changes can make. The Fort Frances Lakers came away with a 4-3 victory over the SIJHL league leading Minnesota Wilderness.

Mason Meyer had a three point night including the game winning goal midway through the third. Jameson Shortreed faced 42 Minnesota shots giving him his second win since returning to the Lakers.

Jacob Nolan had a goal and an assist in tonight’s tilt which was a great way to celebrate his birthday. Kevin Kurm and Coltan Spicer continued thier goal scoring ways contributing the other goals for the Lakers. Owen Stauber, Ethan Brekke, Jordan Christianson also picked up assists in the game.

The Lakers are now firmly in third place in the SIJHL standings sitting 1 point behind the second place Dryden Ice Dogs.

The Lakers return home this Saturday October 27th to face the Minnesota Iron Rangers at the Ice for Kids Arena. Puck drops at 7:30pm.
