FORT FRANCES, ON – The Fort Frances Lakers are pleased to announce the acquisition of Kyle Garland from the QJHL’s Gatineau Flames in exchange for a player development fee.
The 6’2” 201-pound defenceman from Goose Bay, NL spent the majority of last season with the QJHL’s Montréal-Est Rangers, appearing in 34 contests. Garland is expected to provide a steady presence on the Lakers blue line.
“Kyle brings a veteran presence to our team,” said Lakers General Manager, Luke Judson. “We are looking forward to adding his leadership and physicality to our group.”
Garland is expected to be in the lineup this Saturday, November 25 when the Lakers travel to Thunder Bay to take on the defending SIJHL Champion Kam River Fighting Walleye.
