After winning five-straight games, the Fort Frances Lakers dropped a pair of decisions to the Dryden Ice Dogs over the weekend.
The Lakers’ winning ways came to an end here Friday night in a 4-1 loss to the Ice Dogs, which marked the first time the local squad had lost on home ice since the end of September.

Austin Lewis and Chris Belhumeur led Dryden with a goal and an assist each as the Ice Dogs chased Lakers’ goalie Tanner Hamilton midway through the game.
Jordan Christianson netted the lone Laker goal.
Both teams went at it once again Saturday night in Dryden, where the Ice Dogs earned a 3-1 triumph.
Belhumeur and Tyson Holder both had two-point nights for the hosts while Colton Spicer spoiled Eric Szymczyk’s shutout bid.
The Lakers will look to get back on track Thursday when they host the Thunder Bay North Stars in a 7:30 p.m. showdown at the Ice For Kids Arena.
Both teams currently are tied for second in the SIJHL standings with 20 points each, but the North Stars hold the tie-breaker by having more wins than the Lakers (10-9).
