In the Lakers first game of the SIJHL Showcase tonight they were up against the 3rd place Thunder Bay North Stars.
Colton Spicer took the reins for the Lakers’ in tonight’s contest, he scored a goal in each period of the game and picked up an assist in the second period for a 4 point night.
Hunter Leishman, Jordan Christianson, Davis Smith and Jon Bachman also scored for the Lakers. Cody Wickstrom picked up 2 assists while Merritt Rysavy, Kevin Kurm, Alex Bruess, Jordan Christianson, Payton Ruter, Davis Smith, Brendan Cawston and Patrick Sofer each added a helper in the win.
Jameson Shortreed saw a total of 29 shots, making 28 saves in a great outing for the netminder.
The Lakers now trail the 3rd place North Stars by 1 point in the SIJHL Standings. They will suit up again tomorrow morning at 9am against the Duluth Clydesdales.
