The Fort Frances Lakers would like to announce the following signings.
F – John Cuni – when building a team to compete again you always look for traits in players that could replace players that have moved on. In finding John, he somewhat reminds me of a Miles Nolan type of player that will do anything to win. He has skill, is not afraid to pay the price and will mix it up if necessary. We look forward to getting John in camp with our hockey team.
F – David Pryde – a local talent that had good success with us as an affiliate last year. Dave played in 5 regular season games and recorded 5 points including 4 goals. He got the opportunity to help us down the stretch and made the most of it. He played hard, went to the net hard and capitalized on his chances recording a hat trick in his first junior game. He will bring energy, a hard work ethic and add depth to our front core.
D – Will Lightfoot – is a 20 yr old with experience in the SJHL. We will look for Will to be a solid defensive defenseman for us and play a role in shutting down the opponents top lines.
