Dakota Cooper to Join Lakers this Fall

FORT FRANCES, ON – The Fort Frances Lakers are pleased to announce the first player signings of the 2024-25 season. Dakota Cooper of Fort Frances will join the Lakers this fall.

The 6’0, 194-pound forward spent the 2023-24 season with the Thunder Bay Kings U18AAA program, competing in the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL)’s U18AAA division. Cooper was a Lakers affiliate player last season, appearing in two contests for the Lakers.

“Dakota is a good addition to our lineup,” said Lakers Head Coach, Tyler Miller. “He is a power forward who plays physical, works hard, and has skill to go with that power forward role.”

“He’s committed to improving his game and has been putting in the off-ice work that needs to be done to make the jump to Junior Hockey this season.”
